The Story Behind Chuck Wagon 5K

In Memory of Chuck "Wagon" McRoberts

Chuck McRoberts a long-time resident of Brevard County and the owner of McRoberts Pools was a friend to everyone he met. After suffering a hemorrhagic stroke and fighting his own battle with cancer he set a goal to walk the Max Brewer Bridge in Titusville. Being aware of Brittany's Wish and Brittany's battle with leukemia, he decided to make his walk a fundraiser. He raised over $2,000 for children battling cancer. With his family, friends, and his physical therapist by his side, he completed his goal and walked the bridge.

Totally touched by his big heart and perseverance, Brittany's Wish continues the 5K in his memory. Chuck was able to participate in two Wagon 5K races.  Sadly, he lost his battle with cancer soon after, but his memory will live on and will continue to help kids battle leukemia.

The last words he spoke to our race director was, "I lived a good life."
